Private Lessons
Musicians from around the world and at all levels visit Denise for private lessons in person and online. The lessons deal in depth with technique and with particular issues – technical and musical - that the conductor wishes to address.
The foundation of Denise’s teaching is the Toscanini/Barzin school of conducting: this teaches a technique that promotes fluent, expressive use of the baton, an independent left hand and integrated use of the body. It is effective for orchestras, choirs, bands, professional and amateur ensembles and those who work in music education. It is equally effective for those choral conductors who work without a baton.
